AIESEC Exchange - Week 1

24/11/2010 - Stepped on the soil of Taiwan, after spending the night before in Bangkok Airport during transit. Took the High Speed Rail straight from Taoyuan to Zuoying station, Kaohsiung. Couldn't believe I was in Taiwan already!

The train ride took only about 2 hours to reach the station. Was half hour earlier than the expected meeting time with my host - WenZao Local Committee (WZLC) members. Took a sit at the bench to pass time, and then there I saw a bunch of young energetic group of girls, holding banners, standing at the exit platform.

"Is that them??" Walked towards them with confusion.......and said Hi, and that was them! So nice of them to sing a welcome song to welcome me *but couldn't really get the lyrics*, the banners with colourful welcoming words, and those bright & friendly smiles. I am feeling good already. :p

First time in life I got such welcoming treatment *Cute gals eh xp*

Took a cab to the WenZao Language School, where I will be based in for the remaining 6 weeks. Had a brief meeting with the members, and teaching officer (教管 - someone like Discipline teacher). First impression I got - They were really nice & polite people, I was sure I'm gonna have an enjoyable 6 weeks there.

Well since I arrived on a Thursday, the remaining of Week 1 was pretty much spent with getting myself clear with the environment in Kaohsiung and the University, and more importantly my main responsibility here - give HIV/AIDS talks, to students from different schools.

"Well no big deal, it's like presenting in front of a crowd of 30-40 students. Oh yea, there's one special case, Kim ur gonna present in a school hall to around 1000 students." 1 friggin THOUSAND?? I don't even have 1000 Facebook friends! =_= Fine, deal with that later......

Anyhows, since I am in Taiwan, gotta travel out and look see look see right! I tagged along the loud & cheerful Niko, to spend the weekend at her hometown - ZhangHua (彰化). First, we went to FengJia (逢甲) to attend some meeting with VPs from other LC in Taiwan.

FengJia is very famous for its FengJia Night Market, and Taiwanese night markets are famous for their..................................FOOOOOOOOD!!!

Following day, Niko brought me to one of the tourist attractions in ZhangHua - LuGang (鹿港).

Workout attempt to burn off those excessive calories -- FAIL =_=

So, week 1 ended with a fun and stomach filling trip. Time to work in Week 2! Kim's got some lecturing to do! (>`o')>

P.S. I witnessed some very interesting "sport" the students were playing here

FootBaseball? Well its literally baseball played with feet. Looked very the fun, we should have this played in our schools! xD

.......How long has it been since I dropped by?! Wow, too long......

Picking up the mood to put my life in words again, for which its sole reason is to put a record in my life, before it runs out. ^.^ Also to do something out of my style, to actually hang on to something that I started, and not quit halfway. "Quit being a Quitter!!"

Okie lets see, from my last post, till now.... it was 2010 - 2011! Reflection time!!

Things I have done in 2010 *Those I could remember*:

1. GRADUATED!

Kinda like this picture. saved the picture on the left for 15 years, just for this moment! :p

2. Went punting in Bath! Hahaha some of you didn't know there's a punting place in Bath leh.. Nyek nyek nyek.

Come to think of it, SingYeen/Win Win: Can I have the pictures of our last punting session?!?!?

3. Went travelling to

Budapest, Hungary

Blue Mosque, Istanbul, Turkey

Edinburgh, Scotland

Venice, Italy

4. Met with 99 other Chinese from all around the world

*And so blessed to have made awesome friends*! 1 BIG highlight in life!

5. Joined AIESEC as an EP... and went to Taiwan, for 6 weeks! xD

Perfected the "Peace" sign, Taiwanese style... kinda... BIG Highlight #2

Have to say, it is really nice to be back, so nice and cosy....... That I want to stay abit longer! Lalalalala.... Anyways, here are some short updates on what had happened to myself in 2010

If I could be a type of food, I wish to be the vanilla ice cream in Affogato al Caffe, so I can be drowned in Espresso goodness! Orgasmic!!!

Had my first Affogato in Jamie's Italian, fell instantly in love with it.

Had another one in Edinburgh, this time with Baileys... Bombastic!

Now back in Malaysia, had one in Haegan Daz ^.^ Feel so goooooooooooooooooooood

Really recommend to you coffee addicts out there! Where else can I get another good Affogato?

Speaking of this, still anyone out there?

Them coming to Bath was just great! Talked, Laughed and reminisced about those days in the boarding school where we met and became close friends. The 4th floor morning swim sessions, the hide-&-seek nights with the hostel housekeeper, mamak supper smuggled by teachers, jungle trekking and camping, our first haunted house experience during Entreprenuers Day (!), the list goes on & on & on & on......Ahhhhh, it was just like last week's activities when we talked about it....

On the other note, there was a quite interesting sight Bristol......

Due to limited car space in big cities, I might consider getting a Smart car eh.. =p

Surprisingly, both the pass and library card still worked!

I got an email notification to return a book to the library the day before.

So I woke up, packed my bag, went up to uni, did work......

Finish work, walked towards bus stop, has this odd feeling thinking that I had not done something yet, but could not recall what that was.

Boarded the bus....

*DING!!!* "Oh yea! I needa return my book!"
"Oh wait, I still have to go back and pick up the book"

Got home, went to toilet *I had stomach ache*, went to room, look for book, book nowhere to be found......

"Where the heck isiit???"

DING*2!!!!

Walked towards the bag I just chucked onto the bed. Opened it. As expected, there lied the book that I thought was at home which was actually lying in my bag which was with me all along and then brought home and chucked on my bed before I went to toilet and came looking high and low for, which I thought was at home which was actually lying in my bag which.......EH, I'm typing in freaking loop! >.<

I had to travel all the way up to library to return the book which I though was at home at first which was actually..... OKIE OKIE I think you got the picture eh.. =s

There was a bunch of hungry kids... They were so hungry, really hungry, and no other way to find food... They had to pray, pray in a really cross-eyed way:

"God oh God, can you please help us??? Please show the path to get rid of this hunger!!"

At this very moment, a holy voice echoed from the sky, above the ceiling, beyond the clouds, and universe (okay maybe not that far)...

"You asked for me, to be exact, US???"

"Who's that???"

"We are......"

"Poof!" An angelic figure appeared upon them, leaning on the tree (planted from nowhere)

Then the next appearance & grand entrance of..............

....Okie maybe not so grand landing.. (=_=lll) Nevertheless, its the
Poser Yam God aka P.Y.G also pronounced as PEEG!!!!!

He looks familiar??? Yes he is the main protagonist of the

"THE YAM-POSER WHO REIGNED THE WORLD OF POSING WITH HIS WHATS-UP POSE" last time.

Now he has upgraded his posing skills to Godlike level, and got promoted to Poser God rank...

Last but not least..... it's the arrival of......

The Pose Master (PM)!!!
*Finally PYG got on his feet and made an impressive entrance together with his Beyond-Godlike great master*

As if already expecting such question, PM and Poser Fairy-YeeKee showed the evidence..

Well Poser Fairy YeeKee came with her Flying Char Siew Pau, her one & only mode of transport

Finally realising that it's the real Pose Gods that stand upon them, the hungry kids quickly approached them and begged for the way to get food. The only way was obviously to....

POSE!!!! PM stated that they have to master the bestest posing skills that people would be impressed and offer them food in return.

This lesson actually trains one's self conciousness, making themself ever-ready for posing at any location, timing & circumstance

Understanding the elements to get the bestest posing skills, the hungry kids finally got what they need for their own unique pose....

Poser Fairy YeeKee's "Aim-For-The-Star-Pose"!!
*Though there wasn't any star at that time of daylight*

Unique Pose #2:

Inspired by Poser Fairy YeeKee's flying Char Siew Pau, Hungry Kid #1 created the
"Full-Already-Pau-Face pose"...
Magic word: "Bao Liao (Full already)!"

Undeniably, she totally outdid the master in this one.

Hungry kid #3 with the "Fully-Utilise-Any-Reachable-Prop pose", with the imaginary cigar in hand too!

Inspired by the PM's "Stare-Into-Outer-Space pose"...

After hours of ~~sunbathing~~ advice and encouragements, Hungry Kid#5 finally got it!

*Can even capture spirits that were invisible to humans' naked eyes*

So did the Hungry Kids really succeed in the quest to feed themselves by posing? The outcome shall be unveiled, in the next episode....

Back to CPK1412, after disappearance since my last post on Christmas! Now it's the second month of 2010 already! What have I done for the past year/month? I can't recall much now....

Finally picked up the mood to post something, but yet nothing interesting comes up my mind. Trying to remember the stuff/activities I have done for the past month, and also trying to put behind those negative ones that I do not wanna remember anymore~ Sienz...

1. Exams!... Main distraction as to why I was deviated from blogging. *Is that not the other way around?* More sleeping over at Yam Kok Rong's than staying in my own house, I think xS. Occasional personal concerts we perform were the methods we employed to destress. "One Night in Beijing"!!!!!

2. Exams over!.... \(^o^)/
Post comment about exams? It makes me wanna kill someone, makes me wanna slam the computer mouse, makes me wanna kill myself, makes me wanna kill anyone... More importantly,
It MAKES ME FAT!!!!!! Looking at the amount of food and sugar intake to ensure myself awake and working throughout the month.. SIGH~ (*oo*)

3. Catch up with Jia Wei & Subha in London. Thank you so much Jia Wei for inviting me to the dining in Lincoln's Inn (in JEANS! - Sorry!). It was great seeing you both again, and a fun night we had xp.. Loved the laid back chilling times we had. Wish to see you all more often soon!

4. London visit & crashing at Cindy Jie's place. Thank you so much Jie for letting me freeload at your place throughout the week. It was nice seeing you again, and updating each other about own lives through pillow talks was great fun too! *Okie I stayed on my pillow on the floor, while Cindy remained on her pillow on her bed*

5. Cambridge visit & meeting with Heng Kai. Thanks Heng Kai & Cindy Jie for being great hosts for a brief stay in Cams. Met awesome people thru Hkai; got inspired by him to work out more i.e.rowing, dinner with fellow PE1 mates (Arun, Ashok, Jo-anne, Shirley) watched Princess and the Frog as recommended by Cindy Jie! Good times =D

6. Budapest visit! Awesome trip for a break! More on that later.... x)

7. Lunch with ice-Shaun, Le Hong, Keljin & Eugene.... Great LG times, loved catching up with them, hoped to sit down more and catch up again.

Is that all? That should be all I have done the past month, which I could still remember.

It's Xmas vacation! Din't feel much of the vibe though, guess it's cause of the coldness... GOSH freezing toes & fingers! NEvertheless the Long John did help keep my body warm... *Yes I do wear long johns in winter*

The past month has been quite happening (in my terms)

Event 1: BAMSA BathTub Social Party

Had a nice (not great) dinner in Bath Tub and got to know more fellow juniors & members...

Yup... End of story....

.......Now it's Sub-Event (1.1)........

.....Originally wanted to go to Celcius Club with the juniors, but then had to get up to class (no matter what) the next day, so had to get rid of that intention. *Yes, Good student I am*

Walked home with fellow housemates, and housemate's bedmate (Heeeheee Sorry), and got the whole street of Bath alone for ourselves, at night.

If you look hard enough, there is an onion head popping out from the trunk of the 239048237 years old tree in Bath

Hey people. Just so you know, Kimmy's blog got hijacked. *grin*.

All of them are currently enjoying their poker session atm & Edwin's on the lead I think?

Anyway today, dinner was reaally good. Yummylicous. Credits to the chef, Gan Kim Hong & guess wht he cooked?

Fishdon! Although its something I've never heard before, but yeah as long as its delicious (which it is) & edible of course (which I'm still in doubt. Am starting to see people going to the bathroom one after another, hahaha ;p). Anyway, fishdon is some Japanesy meal according to him.

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

AIks, inactive in the blogosphere! Is that good thing, saying that I'm busy, or a bad thing, that I've gotten friggin lazy??? >.< Anyways, I was browsing through my Sri KL's deputy principal's Facebook pictures (YES my ex deputy principal, HAS a FB acc), then I came across this:

Yups that's my sec school's school song....

I wonder how many out there still remembers the lyrics of their previous schools...Er or do they even remember how the tune sounded like? To be honest, I don't remember the tune for this one!!! LOL... All I remember is, during assemblies, students would just mumble/chant their(our) way thru the "lyrics" (except those juniors who remembered and sang every single word clearly, who would do the same chant couple years later), and wait for the ending, where everyone just shouted "SRI KL" loudly, trying to pretend that they(we) still know the song.... XD Good times...

Come to think of it, there are so many school songs I needa remember: Puay Chai song, KL Chung Hwa song, KGH song, and the Sri KL song.... Weird enough, I couldn't recall the secondary school songs......yet I still have fragments of my primary school song. Here goes:

Shouldn't be typing at this time... but this should be real quick....

In my point of view , it is REALLY unwise to:

1. Walk home alone from university after lectures
2. Listen to your favourite playlist which gets you into the casual walking mood
3. Assume that no one is behind/around you while walking
4. Still assume that you're all alone for you could relax and let your guard down
5. Hum or sing along with the tunes in your favourite audio playlist

"What's wrong with doing all these things?", you wonder.

Just be careful, someone could be watching.....closely, or even moving along with you in very short distance.

OH yes, back to the casual & relaxing atmosphere, so relaxing that you could practically do anything you want, i.e. let out unnecessary elements from the body.

YES, I farted........ It was a looooooooooooong & LOUD one......

At this very moment, I see a figure dashed past me....

As I got back to my senses, I realised, that was a lady! Though, she moved so fast that I couldn't even catch a glimpse of her face, "fortunately".

Wide awake at 0256 *Damn the caffeine!*........Nothing interesting happened lately (well just one embarassing one recently)

Shall just blog about food... Kimmy's attempt to make Japanese food #2.

This time it's Omurice I was trying to make.

OmuRice?? Nan Deska?????????
SImply put, omurice is just Omu-Let (Japenese way of pronouncing omelette) + Rice......
IN Chinese, it's 蛋包饭......

There are two types of Omurice: The 1st one & the 2nd one..... [=_=lll]

Omurice # 1: Omelette wrapped fried rice
This is the conventional type of omelette rice, with the egg wrapping the rice inside it....

It actually is quite similar to the Nasi Goreng Pattaya from mamak..Aww now I miss the Nasi Pattaya back home!!!

Omurice # 2: Omelette on top of rice & melting over rice when cut open...... *drools*

This is how Kimmy attempted it:
INGREDIENTS:
1. Leftover rice - Enough for one portion
2. Leftover vege curry - From Indian take away
3. 2 eggs - cheap ones
4. Chopped garlic - also cheap
5. Oil, salt & pepper - nope not leftover

METHOD
1. Pour oil over heated pan & fry garlic.
2. Fry leftover vege curry.
3. Fry rice together with curry.
4. Add salt & pepper for flavouring.
5. Scoop fried rice into a bowl, and transfer over to plate for the nice hemispherical shaped rice.
6. Crack eggs & add some salt, and stir egg mixture, vigorously.
7. Pour egg mixture over heated pan with thin layer of oil.
8. CRUCIAL: Stir egg mixture, and push with ladle to edge of pan, tilting it slightly ~23.45 degrees. Then flip the omelette when lower layer is solid enough.
*I am not sure if I am making sense here. AIya, just scroll down see how the result looks like la*
9. When omelette is done, carefully & gently place it on top of the fried rice.
10. Repeat Steps 7 - 9 in cases of failure!

RESULTS

11. Cut open the omelette for the moment of trooth.......

Sparkling it is!!!

CONCLUSION: Not too bad for 1st attempt.... [^.^]

OH ya, this was done 1 year ago lar, gimme one more year, I might be able to achieve this level???

Nothing interesting in the past weeks, so just a food post to prove that I'm still alive & kickin'!

Sorry KC, am gonna make this post like ur blog's.... =p

CPK cooks....Oyako Don/Donburi! 親子丼 is its Japanese character....
Literal meaning from the character 親子 is Parent & Child....Why so? Coz its ingredients consist of Chicken egg & chicken meat!

Actually the term Oyako also applies to any food with the ingredients in such form,

e.g. Salmon meat + Salmon Roe on Rice = Ikura/Salmon Oyako Don

And Don, 丼 is simply a term for "bowl of rice with topping"

Now, the ingredients for Chicken Oyako Don:

1. White rice - 5 grains or 1 big bowl, depends on your appetite.
2. Chicken drumstick - One drumstick, Diced & de-boned, & skinned for health.
3. Soy sauce - Preferrably Kikoman soy sauce, for more aroma.
4. White Onion - Sliced.
5. Sugar - Again, depends on your tolerance in sweetness.
6. Rice wine - Hint of wine, unless you wanna get drunk.
7. Egg - 2 eggs if you're filthy rich, 1 if you're broke. That's 1 biji in my case.
8. Crushed chilli(optional) - Just a sprinkle, for some "kick" in taste.

Alright guys, lets start cooking!

1 - Place the sliced onions on the base of the frying pan. P.S> The heat is still not on yet.
2 - Place the chicken pieces on top of the layer of onions slices.
3 - Mix Kikoman soy sauce, sugar and rice wine together. Add water to melt the sugar thoroughly. Decide the proportion on own preference. In my case= Soy 1:Sugar 1.5: Wine 0.5
4 - Pour the mixture onto the frying pan.
5 - Turn on the heat at medium heat.
6 - Wait until mixture boils and sizzles. In the meantime, go watch tv/dating/read paper etc.
7 - Usually the mixture wouldn't cover the top surface of the chicken. So, get a spoon to pour mixture onto the chicken repeatedly.
8 - Beat the eggs, but do not stir it too thoroughly.
9 - When chicken cooks & onion softens, pour half portion of egg around the chicken.
10 - Turn the heat to high heat. Let egg mixture settle for ~15 secs.
11 - Turn off the heat. Pour remaining egg mixture onto the chicken.
12 - Scoop rice into rice bowl.
13 - Slide the chicken & egg mixture onto the rice. Sprinkle crushed chilli bits onto

Final Product
Not too bad aint it?!?!?!?

However, the a perfect Oyako-Don would look like this:

Egg should be more liquidish, with a smoother texture.

Nevertheless, It tasted nice! Tasted like how I imagined its taste would be.
Still working on to get the better egg texture feel.

That is simply because 2+1 = 3, hence 3 cakes are needed to cherish this special occasion, for which we have existed on this planet for 21 years.... *that special meh??? =_=*

Anyways, this post is just to brag that I have got 3 cakes for my 21st birthday celebration...xp

Here's the evidence....

1. Base = Overleft rice -Fry it with belacan paste for extra flavour.
2. Middle Layer = 1 in a million super Omega 3/4/5/6/7 chicken egg - Pan fry it.
3. Partition between layers = Crabsticks - Shred them in 4.567mm thickness, with barehands.
4. "Top Icing" = Any starchy stuff basically - Japanese Curry in this case.
5. Candle = Crabstick - Hand shred it in 5.432mm thickness this time.
6. Candle flame = Sauce from the icing - Curry sauce in this case.

P.S> The candle flame is the highlight of the cake!!!!
No light, cake die.....Got light, Cake ALIVE!!!!!

Oh yea... last but not least, garnish the cake's surrounding for the sparkling final touch

Sprinkles of crushed chilli bits,
or gold dust if ur rich enough...

*Truth is, I sprinkled too much chilli bits onto the cake.. cough cough!! (=_=lll)*

3 days before leaving home,

"Boy, why do you look so moody? Any problem? Food problem? Girl problem? Family problem? Face problem?" I didn't want to tell you how much I wanted to spend more time with you, and not leave so early.....Just like the pimple that has reached its saturated status & on the edge of popping, its so obvious & noticeable that gives you & ur mates/family the urge to make you feel better.... =s

8 hours before leaving home, finally understood that this has to be done.... For life's sake, I have to take on this journey, and leave...for the moment.... Let the home-sickness fade away..... & away...& away....Just like the pimple???

Yasmin Ahmad, has left.......

It was a huge loss to the film business, the country, and also those whose hearts touched by her works, especially adverts...like the famous Tan Hong Ming confession ad, the Petronas ads...& she also directed the MV for "Here in My Home", the song that was so Malaysian yet so nice to sing & listen at, that it was used in most Malaysian Night performances =)

May she rest in peace, and her masterpieces will be remembered, for it contributed in reducing diversity in our country through the media, in a not so dull way. I didn't know this was directed by her too!

Time really flies...... especially when you're on holidays!!!!

Seven days ago, I went to watch sister's school's concert: Puteri Gunung Ledang musical.... I only managed to capture these highlights:

YuP, that's the school ochestra band...Their musical had live background music wei!!!

With 100 member choir as the backup voices...I just loved their live music.... (^_^)

Oh oh and my sister performed in the finale dance act also! That's the whole reason why my whole family was there right. Let me show you..................

<(*o*)>>>>>>>> Handphone ran out of battery! That's why could only capture the first half of the show.... Smart eh, dint charge my camera phone in advance! Boo! Have to say, the finale dance was better than other dance acts, coz my sister is in it mer!!! xp

Overall comments on the performance: It is a show that exhibited the hard work & collaboration of 300+ students & teachers to make this a success. However, having too many members/dancers on stage had made the attention on the actors blurred out, confusing the audience where they should concentrate on the stage, the actors or the dancers, or the live music??? I definitely set my eyes & ears on the background music that added to the plot's interestingness. The tracks were taken from the OST of Puteri Gunung LEdang Musical, rearranged by Wesley MEthodist's very own ochestra & choir teacher. I especially loved Keranamu Kekasih.

Acting cast was not bad, but there was less intimacy between Puteri & Hang Tuah.
*Oi! They are secondary school students, how much more intimate do you expect them to be?!?!?!!?*

OH and there's this Sultan Mahmud character in the play, which was one of the better actors within the cast, with one drawback: He's too thin to be a "powderful" Sultan.....He should look more prosperous, much more prosperous....

This is what I call Prosperous, dude!! =P

Review: Both versions have its plus points, but I would prefer the original version, because I thought that the Malay lyrics were much more straightforward, and moving.......very simple song for the perfect one.. However, good job Nicholas!!! Looking forward for more great songs & awesome performances from you!!! \(^v^)/

P.S. I stated this cover as his OFFICIAL first, because he actually did a cover for another Malay song, My Heart, titled Heart, which was the bonus track for his earlier album, 王子 aka Prince. This song was only available in his albums sold in Malaysia region, so it's not too well known overseas......It was indeed another nice cover, of a great Malay song.

7 days since first day of intern job....
5th assigned outfield task.....
2 junior interns joining me... *yea, I am a senior just 1 week after I started! Wahahaha*
5 freaking years since I stepped on a clutch & handled a manual gear shift!

*Why one way toll only?
The GPS was too smart to direct me to HOLLAND (a chinese saying meaning "nowhere") just to avoid the toll fare...which costed >10 extra km & 30 mins*

6.00pm = arrival time at office = end of working hours xs

That concludes my 7th day at intern work in Carlist.my.

Nevertheless, I made in back in one piece.... make that 3 pieces(that 2 fellow interns leh). And I do enjoy working at this little working space, with loads of interesting friends made, and things to learn throughout.....

Oh yea, manager is in need of interns/part times for mid August. If any of you happen to be interested, lemme know ler ya... Recommendation by Kim Hong the cpk aka M.J (MANUAL JAKUN...self amazed by own creativity/lameness in making names) will grant you smooth acceptance! lol... Heard there's incentive for job referrals, so let's divide that amongst you & me ?? (`v*)

Watched Transformers II: Revenge of the Fallen, the much anticipated sequel of the year.... Review? Graphics were awesome, plot was not that favourable to me though, coz there was too much comedy elements in it! Now i totally understand when I saw this:

3. One thing I liked about my chalet....free supply of durians! That is if you're lucky enough, to be staying near durian trees,

and luckier to have durians that couldn't resist the forceful gravity & had to fall behind your chalet, and lucky enough for you to pass by the falling durian (and not hit by it),

Oh oh, let me share one of my mummy's funny moments then:
It was just after I passed my driving test & officially a legal driver. So, my mom wanted me to get familiar with driving, and let me practice when there's chance, with her on the passenger seat. Everytime when approaching a red light/a car in front, she would advised me to press the brake much earlier & slowly, so that I wouldn't stop too close/too slow/too sudden. Nothing wrong with the intention, but her way of "advice" was:

"OK, 停......停......停....停...停..停...停..停停!!!!!!!
(Translation: OK, stop.. stop... stop... stop.... stop.... stop.... stop.... stop.... STOP!)

I told you to stop earlier! Don't stop too late. You stop like this will cause me a headache, and also heart attack!"

At that time, I was laughing so hard, holding the steering wheel in one hand and the stomach with another, coz, I am not kidding, that was the first time in my life, I heard my mom's ability to reach >1 octave higher than the pitch of her normal speaking voice! The word "停" was the highest pitched word that came out from her mouth in all these 20 years! I was so incredibled that I couldn't help laughing about it. Okie this may not be that funny, but recalling that scenario never failed to make me smile. But that advice was really useful, make me a cautious(?) driver that haven't encoutered serious accidents or fines/samans.....Oi, don't jinx me ar!

Things to Do in Prague (II) - Eating

Beware: The following picture post is mouth-watering & very the tempting....Do take precaution steps for the possibilities of occurenece of saliva-flood!

Day 1 (28/03/09):

Czech salad with bacon and dressing - Very delicious! Loved the combination of the warm bacon cold vege in the mouth, really appetizing! And it's definitely too much for one person, nice salad to share......

Pasta ordered by my fellow Poser-Fairy...White sauce blend well with the chicken pieces and into the pasta itself......

The HUGE platter for TWO! There are half a spring duck, ham slices, sausages, chicken, potato pancakes, and Czech dumplings(the white & round ones) Believe it or not, even Yam/Kok Rong & me had problem with this dish...It is really a big dish! YUM YUM (^.^)

Day 2 (29/03/09):

Lunch at a local Prague restaurant, brought there by our day tour guide

Beef goulash(?) with potato pancakes & dumplings *Again*

Pork cutlets with sweet & sour cream...with.... yup you guessed it right, DUmpLIngs!

A Czech meal is not complete without their smooth brew. Much soothing than British beers, I kinda like it, thought I dint drink much in Prague... xp

Moving on to dinner......Where??? The Easter Market!!!!

Juicy, Crispy on the outside, Tender inside, Delicious...I want more sausages! \(>o<)/

Whats this called again? Pretzels? Some flour deep fried in oil pool and then sprinkled with sugar... Tasted not bad for a sweetie. Let say it tasted like fresh doughnuts!

Fried mushroom with chips...So nice that we bought a second bowl.. Heheh
On and the green cup at the top left corner.... Thats the SUPER DUPER - KAU/RICH HOT CHOCOLATE! It wasn't a complete liquid form, and tasted Super Chocolatey!

Dunno what's this called. Basically it tasted like "Yau-Cha-Kueh", with a thick layer of cheese and ketchup on it.... Recommended for sharing... (><)

Czech pretzels? Yummy with cinammon and sugar!

Skewed chicken.....Full of flavour and taste!

Crepe with Nutella! Great dessert to conclude the filling and satisfying dinner!

Day 3 (30/03/09):

Had lunch at a restaurant, which I thought was aimed solely to take advantages from tourists.
Not happy with the food served and service delivered.
(`.')p *thumbs down*

However, dinner had made it all up....Shared among me, Yam & Eugene(Poser-King) were:

Mushroom cream soup in bread bowl....Great appetizer! Creamy and tasty & goes well with the bread!

Pork knuckle! Perfect dish!!!! Hurray! That's all I have to comment about.. LOL

Another meat platter....This time just enough to share, and not too filling as well...

Ordered another fried pork fillets....
Crispy and tender inside... Sauce was nice to go with the dumplings as well.....

Speacial note: The restaurant where we had out dinner had underground/basement dining space with quite a complex route to get through. So, a map was well prepared on the table to give customers directions in & out of their dining space, in case they get lost... =p

Apologies for the lack of updates in this space.....main reason being laziness...

Today, I'm gonna post about the something that I wanted to post about, right before my dearest Toshiba Satellite was nicked....T.T *mourns*

JUST about 1 month ago,23/1/09, my frenz & I went onto a day trip in Oxford. Believe that it's one of the most heard UK cities amongst ourselves, apart from London(the hectic capital), Cambridge, Manchester(Man United!), & Bath (just simply awesome xp)

1st destination: Oxford Castle,Uncovered:

2nd attaction: Carfax Tower

Its the spot where you climb 99 steps to catch the panaromic view of Oxford City.. Definitely worth the 99 steps climb!

CONCLUSION: Loved the European building design of the library, but I would not want passing tourists & visitors to see my NERDING look (O_O)

That wraps up our Oxford day trip.... Hope this post does not discourage any of you to go explore the city... It is a city worth visiting... =)

Why the sigh??

Sigh no 1:
Coz I lost my laptop..... & my camera.Stupid noob thief (which I am grateful about) made me feel bored during this weekend, had to come up to university library to use the computer, and blog here...xS Besides that, me precious pictures & pirated music gone with it! May the custom/cybercrime people detect my computer and arrest him when they found my compact list full of illegal MP3s, WMVs, AVIs and put his ass in the cyberjail, or even extend his term in case his tongue slipped that the laptop isn't even his.... Interesting eh? Ah, I feel better now... Actually, not sure if this is good or not, I did not feel too sad over my loss, as in it wasn't too big of a deal to me... Issit coz i start to not appreciate the value of money(just like how British £ has crazily depreciated). Or it might be the fact the he took my not-so-new-3-year-old laptop gift from a relative (sorry uncle!), & my camera which did not work coz it took images full of shitty lines, instead of a proper digital image, which entertained the supposedly "grieved" me. Wakakaka!
*Prays he doesn't read this part & comes back for revenge *WTF you coward CPK!**

It was Valentine's Day yesterday. Not that I did not have fun having a great yummy sushi lunch outing with my lovely housemates, & not that I did not enjoy giving out my first batch of roses (in 20years) to them... There is a sense of emptyness within me, waiting to be filled. I don't know what feeling it is & why it exists. Intended to get rid of those feelings by indulging myself in movies & shows...Oh WAit, I forgot the part when I lost my laptop!!

As some of you may know, I spent my 1st week of winter vacation in Birmingham, four days to be exact....

YUP, I watched the movie, illegally. *That's how we Malaysians roll*

Found out that this movie is currently showing in Malaysia cinemas. First thought I had was,"How much will they be editting the movie this time? How many words are they going to censor??? How much shorter will editted version be?" Half the script was in Hokkien dialect, and 3/4 of it were literally vulgar words. Wonder how it's gonna end up. I think I wouldn't like this movie if it's cleanly editted, coz the vulgar language reflected the naturalness in the characters, something you would expect to hear in daily life. Hope it wasn't editted that much back home, & someone who watched it in Malaysia could tell me how it was like.

Speaking of the story, I liked it. "It's beautiful....(o.o)"

P.S. Cape No. 7 is the second highest grossing film in Taiwanese cinematic history, just behind Titanic. Geng mou???

On second note, Red Cliff Part 2 is coming soon!!
For those who haven't watched Part 1, yes, there is a Part 2, so don't expect the story to end in the first film.

In 1st of December 2008, the sky was smiling at us....Well not all of us lar, just those in the southern hemisphere, i.e. Australia, Malaysia, Singapore.......

Despite all the not very good happenings to our world, we still got to see a smile from above. Does this give us any sign?
